I've just been asked by a guitar friend to research a bit about the availability of an Epi SG Jnr with that dog-ear P90, as I got one. I then searched the 'net, finding out that they're not made anymore! Is it already a "classic guitar", in the vintage category? I have several Gibsons (including an SG Special with 2xP90s) and a very old LP Standard, but that Epi SG is the one I use the most. I also bought an Epi LP Jnr, just to be on the safe side. These instruments are made in Korea according to the sticker on them, but they've used good woods!

Anyway, that SG Jnr with a bolt-on neck (as if a Fender) is something rather unique compared to the original Gibson model. You can go from meaty and grungy to squeaky-clean, having a good preamp or stomp-box. It is also perfect for open tunings. I use it a lot with just 4 strings on (taking off the top and bottom E strings), and tuning the remaining strings A-E-E-A.
